Rates and Payment
I bill most psychotherapy sessions in 45- or 60-minute units. These are the two time units insurance companies currently recognize. However, sometimes, a 30-minute check-in or follow-up session is sufficient. In addition, sometimes EMDR is most efficiently done in 75- or 90-minute sessions. For these reasons, I offer sessions of various lengths at prorated amounts. Consultation sessions are billed the same as psychotherapy sessions.
As the majority of my clients do file with their insurance companies for reimbursement, session lengths are organized to correspond with current insurance practices:
- 45-minute session = $130
- 60-minute session = $170
- 75-minute session = $210
- 90-minute session = $250
Full payment for the session is due at the time of the session. I accept cash or check. I do not accept credit or debit cards at this time.
The only insurance plan that I am in-network with is the Duke University Student Plan. For all other insurance plans, I am an out-of-network provider and I do not file insurance claims. However, I will provide you with a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company, in the case that your insurance company will reimburse you for out-of-network services.
